Design processes
The challenge
For the Design / Product Management /Tech triad to work effectively, the company development processes should be well-defined and clear for everyone.
The first step is to understand the players (of which design is a big one), the environment, and what success looks like for those involved.
One of the biggest challenges in Tori.fi was synchronizing the operations between design, research, development, and product management workstreams. The daily activities of the individual groups were not clear to the others, and the frames for cross-team communications were not obvious and often forgotten.
Product Process Poster
After the processes have been discussed and formulated during an extensive and cross-functional workshop, I have produced a big-size poster that is displayed at the daily-standup meeting area. It serves as a tool to showcase the stages of the process and indicate at what point the collaboration is crucial.

Cheat-Sheet
The company UX Process is composed of several phases consisting of multiple activities. I have prepared a UX cheat sheet that can be printed and used for each new assignment.
Designers can decide which of the presented actions are relevant to the problem they are trying to solve and then follow the cheat sheet and mark them off as they proceed.
Problem-Solution Cards
In order to highlight the importance of thinking in terms of verifiable hypotheses, we have started using cards that encourage the designers to verbalize the actual user problem they are solving and set up metrics to prove the chosen solution addresses it well.
